Walk along the Thames: Tower Bridge and the Tower of London
A public garden with a beautiful view, you see Tower Bridge and the Shard. Located near the shore of the Thames we recommend you to walk around this area, first you can visit the Tower of London where the queen’s crown is exposed. Then go on Tower Bridge and walk to the along the river. On this page we describe the chosen route.

The little park that you need to know to get there, indeed, you don’t have much information on the Internet, it is a new neighborhood with an interesting charm. In this park in East London you have a magnificent view of Tower Bridge and the Shard. A small lake and a beautiful fountain are also available in the sector if you leave the park and go throught the North (see map at the end of the article). Several boats are moored in this area, people live there permanently.
The dove is the symbol of peace, this monument was erected in homage to the people of the district who died during the Second World War.

St Katharina Docks Marina
You can go around the Marina, it’s on the way and very pretty, several boats are moored and there is a floral restaurant bar “The Dickens Inn”, you will also have luxury shops, you can find calm just next to the brilliant Tower Bridge.

The Tower of London remains one of the most emblematic attractions of the city, built in 1080 by William the Conqueror, “the white tower” has experienced tumultuous changes including defense buildings such as pits, bastions and ramparts. Indeed, it has long remained a royal residence, therefore a fortress closely guarded by the British Empire.
Subsequently this imposing building had many wacky roles, in fact it was observatory, treasure chamber, zoo (menagerie) hence the presence of stuffed animals in the enclosure of the fortress. Tower of London was even a prison under the Tudor era.
It is from 1971 that the jewels of the Crown are transferred in the Tower of London.

It is advisable to do the guided tour that is included in the price of the entrance ticket, so a guard in costume, a “Yeoman Warders” will explain in its own way the history of the Tower and the England in general. The guided tour lasts 45min.

Tower Bridge : Visit, history and the bridge construction
Tower Bridge is a well known bridge in London, it is visible from afar thanks to its two great iconic towers. The bridge can be visited, you will see the old hydraulic system active until 1976. There is also a new glass floor which offers a great view.

The construction project dates from 1876 and it was John Wolfe Barry and Horace Jones who had the chance to complete this project. At the time it was the most sophisticated rocking bridge in the world! Today these bridge lifts are rare but remain a big show.
You can walk on the bridge and go to the shore in front of Tower of London to enjoy the view. The bravest can go to the Shard, one of the tallest towers in Europe.
