Tower of London: Visit, map and price of the tarif of the dungeon

The Tower of London remains one of the most emblematic attractions of the city, built in 1080 by William the Conqueror, “the white tower” has experienced tumultuous changes including defense buildings such as pits, bastions and ramparts. Indeed, it has long remained a royal residence, therefore a fortress closely guarded by the British Empire.

Subsequently this imposing building had many wacky roles, in fact it was observatory, treasure chamber, zoo (menagerie) hence the presence of stuffed animals in the enclosure of the fortress. Tower of London was even a prison under the Tudor era.

It is from 1971 that the jewels of the Crown are transferred in the Tower of London.
